One thing I like to think that I have in common with Lily is that we are both "doers." Granted, I'm not exactly saving an entire race of people, wielding a sword or choosing between two, maybe more vampire boyfriends, but when I get something in my head, I do it. This is a blessing and a curse.
Those people who process situations and patiently wait for the right time to act in appropriate manners could very well be living lives that make more sense. Maybe there's something to playing it safe, but Lily and I will take "fly by the seat of our pants" over that any day. We don't waste time living by default, and we don't wait around for things or people. You try it. Sometimes you fail, more times than not I fail, but there's a lesson to be learned and if you work hard enough, you'll succeed. (My mom told me that, so it must be true!) Living in fear of trying new things is no way to live at all. I would rather leave this life regretting the silly things I did than the things I didn't try.
To those of you who have emailed or contacted me through various social media asking advice on how to write a novel, just do it! I think you'll be surprised how easy it flows once you feel passionate about it. We could all benefit a bit if we asked WHAT WOULD LILY DO? Maybe just don't always do it.
