In the second Lily Drake book, ‘Til Death Do Us Part, you will meet some new characters. Three of which are brothers – Edward, Edmund and Edgar Carter.
The Carter brothers in my book are the antagonists, Lily will find herself at odds with these boys and it won’t end in just one book. The Carter brothers are going to pose problems for Lily for some time.
Although, the brothers in the book are based on nothing but purely my imagination, their last name came from an old legend based down in New Orleans. Supposedly, there really were a couple brothers that were referred to as vampires in the Quarter. The Carters were seemingly average guys, until one day a woman escaped from their apartment and ran to the police with slit wrists. Story has it the policemen found four others tied up to chairs in the apartment, also with cut wrists, having their blood drained. As all myths go, the outlandish part comes next when according to legend, it took seven to eight officers to hold down the normal-sized brothers and take them into custody. Later when they were executed and their bodies put in a vault, the remains went missing. To this day, sightings of men described as looking like John and Wayne Carter circulate.
Although, I have three brothers in my book, it just felt right to name them Carter after I was made aware of this legend.
